The fundraiser was a HUGE success. We could have had more people come through, but with the rain and cold, we were very pleased. I had set a goal I wanted to reach, and PRAISE GOD (as all good things come from above) we almost doubled our goal. I was so happy. I wanted so much to do this for my sister, and God gave us the favor we were praying for. The vendors were great. I had over 20. We really had it looking like a Pre-Christmas Extravaganza. If you are on my Facebook, then you can see the pictures.
Went Sunday afternoon to pick up my son's 11x16 senior portrait. It is so good. I cannot wait to get it framed. I am going to take my daughter's senior portrait with me so I can get the same frame as her senior portrait has. Then, I am going to find the right wall and hang up my daughter's senior portrait, my son's senior portrait, and my senior portrait. I am so proud of both my children. It does a mother's heart good to know her children are doing well and striving to live for the Lord. It enables me to sleep peacefully at night.
I went to the doctor yesterday for my diagnostic mammogram! It sounds so clinical! As I speculated, all is well with me. The issues I have been having seem to be getting better daily with the medicine she gave me for another issue. Go figure! She said I could have bruised myself inside without even knowing it, but she wanted to be safe rather than sorry. I am glad she did. I have to thank my co-worker and friend for going with me. She said she wanted to be there so she could pray in the waiting room. I could not turn that down, now could I? I was truly touched she wanted to come. I did not want to interfere with any of my family's routines as I knew all would be fine, and my husband had to go to Norfolk to pick up an electric wheelchair for my brother who suffers with Parkinson's. He wanted to put his trip off so he could be with me, but I thought getting my brother the chair needed to come first.
About my brother's chair, let me show you how truly awesome our God is!!!! My husband and brother arrived at the Naval base in Norfolk where they were told to come to pick up the electric wheelchair this sailor was selling. They looked it over and put it on the truck. My brother paid the sailor his money, and as he was walking to the truck, the sailor yelled for him to come back. My brother turned around, and the sailor said, "God has been so good to me. Here take this money back!" He gave my brother the money back which he had paid for the wheelchair! How many people do you know who would have been so gracious? I cannot think of many.
I have not done well with my challenge but I am not allowing my early failures to make me throw my towel in. I have been under such stress the past week or so. Today is a new day that God has blessed me with, and I will pick right back up and start again. Continue to keep me in prayer, as I so need you all for support. However, I know that through God's strength I can do anything.
Have a blessed day!
