Good morning! How are you on this cold brisk morning? Are you ready for the big snow storm? I am not sure if I am or not, but I guess we have no choice. They are saying we could see blizzard type conditions, especially in the DC area. It reminds of me a storm we had years ago. It was very difficult to see where to drive. I remember having to get to my parent's home, because I was very concerned about them. My ex-husband and I set out in his Toyota pick up. We lived about 5 miles from mom and dad. On the drive, we could not determine where the road began and the ditch / field started. It appeared as though you were in the middle of a vast plain trying to maneuver your way to no where. All you could see as far as the eye could tell was white snow, blowing everywhere around you. The wind was howling and the snow was steadily coming down. The drifts were big and growing all around us. It was very scary. However, I would give anything to be able to make that drive again! I miss them so much.
My son, on the other hand, is looking anxiously for the sky to open up and the snow to begin. He thought for sure it would start snowing during the evening last night so he would not have school today. I tried to explain to him it was not going to happen. I guess he will figure this out when I wake him for school this morning!
My husband will be leaving today for northern Virginia where he will be in a snow plow for the next few days. At first he said he was not going to do it if his ex-employer called him, but then when they did call, he jumped at the opportunity. I think he wants to see how it feels to work again. Don't we all wish we had such options ... LOL! He deserves to be able to retire. He has worked hard most of his life, starting at 13, and he gave 20 years of his life to Uncle Sam. Then, after retiring from the Army, he returned to the work force and continued working until he was 60. Don't you think he deserves to chill for awhile? I do!
My new venture with Mary Kay is great. I am so excited! I attended another meeting on Tuesday night, and it was very informative. I love learning everything. I especially enjoy meeting new people. I am expecting lots of new product today. I have never had so much fun making money. Check me out at www.marykay.com/janetnicholson0619. I would love to hear from you. If you have any questions, please email me at Janet.Nicholson0619@marykay.com. I would love to do a free facial for you.
My son once again made his momma proud with his report card. He got 5 A's and 1 B. This, as I have said often, is a big accomplishment for him. I do not follow up with him on homework, assignments, or anything school related. I started this two years ago to mature him and help him take on the responsibility for his own. He has done very well.
Okay, I am going to wrap it up for this morning. We have meetings at work today so I need to be on time, alert, and ready to take on the day. I pray you have a blessed day. Please be safe. Once the snow starts, do not get on the roads unless you have to. Driving conditions are not going to be in our favor!
