So how is your week going? My niece has to be jumping through hoops about now. Tomorrow is her bridal luncheon. Then her wedding rehearsal is tomorrow evening with the dinner, and THE WEDDING IS ON SATURDAY. She is going to make such a beautiful bride. I am so happy for her and her special someone. Though I have not had the opportunity to spend a great deal of time around her future husband, what time I have been around him he seems like such a wonderful and kind young man. Most special is his relationship with Christ. My niece is going to be evenly yoked with her husband and it is so reassuring. One major element in a new marriage that is most important ... probably the most important! I cannot wait for the festivities to begin. YOU ... be on the watch for lots of pictures!!!!
Went to Bible study last night for the first time at the Pastor’s house of the new church we are attending. I fell in love with their home. It had such a comfy feeling to it. There were about 15 people there and I truly enjoyed it. Everyone made you feel so welcome. It was a great feeling. We are studying in the book of Ezekiel. Last night we discussed how God has to woo us sometimes back to Himself when we stray. I think the biggest mistake I make is thinking of ‘wooing’ someone as romantic, and we get this warm, tingly feeling. However, this may not always be the case. God had to use great measures, and some not so pleasant, to woo the Israelites back to Him. I think this is where we have to draw on our faith and believe God will turn the bad things in our lives around for those of us who believe. Even more difficult is to search for the lessons in times of trials. God always has an ulterior motive in allowing things to pass through our lives. Sometimes God allows those bad things simply to draw us back to Him. Sort of like tough love. He loves us that much and He desires us to spend eternity with Him.
I look back over the course of the past few months and I have so much to be thankful for. It makes the other things in life seem so trivial. I have been dealing with some personal issues that are truly mundane compared to my blessings. Thank God today for the simple things in life. We really overlook so much He does for us. Remember ... ALL good things come from above.
Have a wonderful day and a blessed weekend. I hope to be writing some articles on Sunday ... if I am not too tired from all the festivities this weekend!!!!
